The Purchasing Manager II is responsible for ensuring the global purchasing function delivers an uninterrupted supply of materials at optimum cost and will manage a wide range of purchasing activities through direct and indirect global subordinates. This role is charged with establishing and implementing procedures to establish contracts with suppliers globally.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain relationship with strategic suppliers 
  • Support the development of supplier agreements 
  • Assemble S&OP data for distribution within Supply Chain and communication out 
  • Negotiate with strategic global suppliers 
  • Formalize agreements based on established formats following negotiations 
  • Manage the requirements including placing purchase orders with suppliers to critical project use 
  • Perform periodic review of strategic suppliers, including cost review and ordering pattern review 
  • Establish global supplier business reviews in conjunction with marketing to result in cost and knowledge development
  • Champion designated product groups based on global direction 
  • Other tasks may be assigned

Qualifications

Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of strategic procurement experience is required
  • Strong analytical skills is required
  • Chemical industry experience a plus
  • JD Edwards or similar ERP experience is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required
  • Experience in industrial gas and refrigeration purchasing strongly desired

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • APICS designation a plus

Physical Working Environment:

 

Climate controlled office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
