The Field Service Technician II, ARMS is responsible for repairing and adjusting electrical and mechanical equipment of diesel powered lifeboats in the field at customer/client sites and in the shop.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Inspect and repair equipment, using mechanic’s hand tools and gauges
  • Conduct operational tests for lifeboats and associated equipment
  • Document inspection and test results and work performed or to be performed
  • Document parts needed or recommended
  • Other duties and tasks make be assigned
  • Work is performed in the workshop or offshore and is subject to temperature changes, extreme cold, heat, noise, and vibration. Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, odors, gases, and/or poor ventilation.

  • Position requires travel approximately 30-60%.


Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:


  • 2 – 4 years of work experience with in-depth mechanical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills
  • Detail and customer oriented
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop/evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Life boat experience is preferred




  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Certificate in marine mechanics preferred
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential ‘TWIC’ card
